Ruth is currently undertaking her PhD on The Housing Crisis and Redefining the Role of the Housing Professional at the University of Sheffield. Her area of study makes use of her experience working in politics and policy development. She started her career as a MPs’ research assistant in Parliament, before moving into policy development roles in local government. She was the Local Government Association’s lead on housing, working in their London and Brussels offices and was instrumental in delivering housing finance reform. Her areas of interest include social housing, leadership development and the implementation of policy into practice.
