Sam Burgum is a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellow based at Urban Studies & Planning, University of Sheffield, as well as an associate researcher of the Urban Institute. A critical urban sociologist, his agenda focuses on power and resistance across multiple research interests, including: squatting, activism & homelessness; property & trespass; social movements & the city (e.g. Occupy London); camps, refugees, & migration; informality & the grassroots; genealogical politics & archival politics; social justice and inequality.
