What are the plans for the 2020 and 2021 conferences?

We will hold the HSA 2020 conference across the month of November as a free for members virtual event. This will involve live plenary sessions, live workshops sessions, and pre-recorded presentations for attendees to engage with. We are really excited!

We intend to hold the HSA 2021 conference as a physical event with virtual elements, and will continue to monitor all government and Public Health England advice over the next few months.

I have already paid and registered for 2020, what are my options?

We are offering those of you who have paid and registered for the 2020 conference the opportunity to roll this registration over for our 2021 conference which we intend to hold in Sheffield in April 2021. We would love to see as many faces at that event as possible!

For those who are unable to do this, we will, of course, refund your registration. Please contact  [email protected] to do this.

I have already registered for the conference do I need to re-register?

The November event is taking a different, and exciting, shape. Information for how you can engage with this event will be available on the conference pages of the website and will be emailed to those who have registered and those who are presenting.

Will my paper be transferred to the new programme?

Yes, we would love to have as many papers from the previous programme in our virtual event as possible! You will be contacted as a presenter with the outline of the new programme and how you can be involved.

I am a conference bursary recipient will my bursary still be valid for the 2021 conference?

Yes.

Will there be further opportunities to apply for a conference bursary?

Unfortunately not.

Can I submit to the Valerie Karn prize?

No we will not be permitting new entries to the Valerie Karn prize. The prize winner will be announced at the conference.

Will there be another call for papers?

We anticipate being able to accommodate a limited number of new paper submissions within the conference programme. New deadlines and instructions for submissions will be announced over the coming months.
