About the role 

We’re looking for an Evaluation Manager or Associate Director to lead and deliver mixed-method evaluations in housing and planning. You’ll help shape policy through high-quality, impactful research. This is a client-facing role with responsibility for managing projects, building strong relationships, and contributing to business development (particularly at AD level).

Role responsibilities 

  • Manage housing or planning evaluation projects from start to finish
  • Oversee budgets, timelines, and resource planning
  • Design and deliver large-scale mixed-method evaluations (quant, qual, Theories of Change, value for money)
  • Act as main client contact and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support proposal writing and business development (especially at AD level)
  • Develop your skills and help your team grow

Your profile 

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience managing housing-related evaluations (process, impact, or economic)
  • Interest in policy areas such as social housing, private rented sector, house building policy, planning policy, regeneration and local economic growth, supported housing, homelessness
  • Strong background in quantitative and/or qualitative research design and delivery
  • Excellent project management and client-handling skills
  • Confident written, presentation, and delivery abilities
  • Team mindset and enthusiasm for learning and mentoring
  • (For AD level) A drive to contribute to business development
