Housing is fundamental to human security, well-being, and identity. Yet in times of conflict - whether due to war, forced displacement, or socio-political crises - it often becomes both a casualty and a weapon of war. This Autumn Lecture examines the intricate relationship between housing and conflict.
Adopting a multidisciplinary approach, our Autumn Lecture will integrate insights from leading experts from across urban planning, humanitarian aid, and social justice, using historical and contemporary case studies to illustrate key themes.
Bringing together academics, practitioners, and policymakers, this lecture will critically examine the impact of displacement on urban and rural environments, the complexities of post-conflict housing reconstruction, and innovative strategies for designing dignified, resilient shelter solutions.
Speakers to be announced soon.
