Dr Mahmoud Alsaeed is an architectural engineer, researcher, and educator with a strong focus on affordable and sustainable housing. He has extensive experience in design, architecture, sustainability consultancy, and project management, having worked across Europe and the Middle East before transitioning to academia.
He currently works at the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research (CCHPR) at the University of Cambridge as a Research Associate. He completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield, investigating how environmental sustainability is integrated into social housing in the UK. Mahmoud was also a Maria Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield, working as part of the EU-funded RE-DWELL project on affordable and sustainable housing.
Mahmoud’s work is driven by a commitment to inter- and transdisciplinary research as well as public engagement. He has many publications and has collaborated with housing organisations and policymakers to promote equitable and sustainable housing practices.
