In Week 4, papers focus exclusively on the issue of homelessness. Papers engage with concepts that are used to explore or frame homelessness, such as capabilities and vulnerability, as well as key issues that interact with homelessness such as domestic abuse and stress. Presenters within the workshops come from both academia and practice, and will provide both theoretical and practical engagements with the subject. This week is a key opportunity to engage with the broad spectrum of the experience of homelessness in the UK and further afield. The plenary session for this week looks at the COVID-19 pandemic and research that has been recently undertaken or due to commence in response. Speakers will consider the interrelationship between the pandemic and home, the pandemic and home-lessness and the impacts living in poorer-quality housing had for occupants during the first COVID-19 lockdown.
